6. License Management
Overview
The License tab allows you to manage your LineagePress Pro license.
Activating your license unlocks premium features such as unlimited family trees and individuals, advanced media categorization, and enhanced place management tools.
Accessing License Management
To manage your license:
- Navigate to LineagePress → Dashboard.
- Click on the License tab.
Pro Version Activated
If your LineagePress Pro license is currently active, the License page will display a confirmation message and a list of premium features available under your license.
Available Pro Features
- Unlimited Family Trees – Create and manage as many trees as you need.
- Unlimited Individuals – Import and edit an unlimited number of individuals.
- Media Auto-Categorization – Automatically organize your uploaded media.
- Place Merging & Geocoding – Advanced tools for managing, merging, and mapping place data.
Deactivating Your License
If you wish to move your license to another site or temporarily disable Pro features:
- How to Use:
- Click Deactivate Pro Version.
- Confirm your choice when prompted.
- Result: Your license will be released from this installation, allowing activation on another website if desired.
Activate Pro Version
If your Pro license is not yet active, you will see an activation form.
Activation Instructions
- Enter your license key in the provided text field.
- Click Activate Pro Version.
Expected Results
- Success:
A confirmation message will appear, and your dashboard will update to display the active Pro status. - Error:
If the license key is invalid or cannot be verified, an error message will indicate the issue.
Tip: Make sure your site can connect to the LineagePress licensing server. Firewalls or local development environments may block license activation.
