📊 Dashboard Overview Guide for LineagePress

The LineagePress Dashboard is the central management hub for your genealogy data within your WordPress admin area, offering an at-a-glance overview and quick access to key features. It’s accessible via WordPress Admin → LineagePress → Dashboard.
1. Overview Tab
The primary view provides a comprehensive snapshot of your data and essential actions.
Statistics Cards
Six interactive cards display real-time counts of your database contents:
- Trees 🌳: Total family trees.
- Individuals 👤: Total person records.
- Families 👪: Total family units (e.g., parental/spousal relationships).
- Media 📷: Total photo and file attachments.
- Places 📍: Total location records.
- Sources 📚: Total citation and evidence records.
Each card features a “Manage” button that links directly to the corresponding data section for detailed management.
Tree Filter
If you manage multiple trees, a dropdown selector appears at the top, allowing you to filter the statistics to a specific tree or view the combined totals for all trees.
Quick Actions
Three prominent action buttons provide immediate access to core functions:
- View Frontend 🌍: Opens your public-facing genealogy website in a new browser tab.
- Add a Tree 🌳: Initiates the creation of a new family tree.
- Import Data 📥: Opens the tool for uploading and processing GEDCOM files.

Welcome Notice
First-time users will see a visible notice guiding them to create their first tree before proceeding with data import.
2. Activity Log Tab

This tab details recent system operations, providing transparency into data changes:
- Displays user actions such as imports, edits, and deletions.
- Includes timestamps and the user names responsible for the actions.
- Uses Activity type icons (e.g., person, import, media, tree, family, place, source) to categorize entries.
- Features Export to CSV functionality and a Clear log option.
3. Configuration Tab

Provides access to all plugin settings and preferences. (Delegates to the Configuration page).
4. Database Tab

Contains tools for database maintenance and integrity:
- Offers backup, restore, and other maintenance utilities. (Delegates to the Database Utilities page).
5. License Tab

Manage your software license status here:
- View current license status (Lite/Pro).
- Options to Activate license keys and Deactivate licenses.
